Why IPAF Certification Matters – What It Means for Our Customers

Roli, one of Litenet’s IPAF and CSCS accredited engineers, installing rooftop signal equipment with MEWP access – combining safety, skill, and professionalism

At Litenet, we pride ourselves on combining technical expertise with a strong focus on safety and professionalism. We’re pleased to share that Roli, one of our experienced engineers, has recently renewed his IPAF certification – a reminder of our team’s ongoing commitment to working safely at height. Roli is one of several engineers at Litenet who hold both IPAF and CSCS accreditations, ensuring we’re fully equipped to operate safely and compliantly across commercial sites, rooftops, and construction environments. These qualifications aren’t just box-ticking – they bring real benefits to the businesses we support.

But what is IPAF, and why should it matter to you as a customer?

What is IPAF Certification?

IPAF stands for the International Powered Access Federation. It’s the global authority on the safe use of powered access equipment , think cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). An engineer with an IPAF certification has undergone rigorous training to safely operate this kind of equipment in real-world conditions.

For Litenet, this often means installing rooftop antennas, running cables at height, or positioning external signal equipment on poles or building exteriors,  all tasks where MEWPs might be used.

Why It Matters to Litenet

In the world of mobile signal solutions, getting access to the right location is often half the battle. Some of our most effective signal enhancement solutions, such as external wideband antennas or roof-mounted boosters, require us to work several metres off the ground.

By having IPAF-certified engineers in-house, we can:

  • Reduce delays caused by waiting on third-party access teams
  • Ensure safe, compliant installations at height
  • Tackle challenging environments like factories, showrooms, logistics centres or  high-rise blocks
  • Offer a complete end-to-end service without compromising on safety or efficiency
It’s one more way we stay agile and self-sufficient, ready to take on complex projects with fewer moving parts.

What’s in It for Our Customers?

Whether you’re a facilities manager, IT head, or business owner, here’s how our IPAF certification delivers value to you:

Faster Project Turnaround

We can start and complete jobs quicker by managing height access ourselves, no need for third-party access hire delays.

Cost-Efficiency

Fewer subcontractors = fewer overheads. That can translate into more cost-effective solutions.

Enhanced Safety and Compliance

You’re working with a team that’s trained and certified to operate safely in high-risk environments. That’s peace of mind for your risk register.

Future-Proof Installations

When engineers are confident working at height, they can optimise antenna placement and equipment positioning, ensuring better coverage and long-term results.

Litenet’s Commitment to Continuous Professional Development

IPAF is just one of many certifications our engineers hold, and we’re always pushing for more. We believe great service comes from great people, and that means training, upskilling and staying current with industry best practice.

This latest certification isn’t just a badge, it’s a signal (pun intended) of how seriously we take your project, your premises, and your partnership with us
